I mean ACTUAL dating, not tinder (which is mainly for hooking up). I’m kinda lonely and I’ve been single for a few years. I’ve never actively looked for someone, but my friends suggest I should. The hardest part about dating apps for me is I don’t find that many people... attractive. But I’ve only tried a couple. Tinder was a gold mine of cute guys that were interesting to talk to, but they’re all looking for hook ups.

Download the app, meet a “great guy”, get ghosted, delete the app, get lonely a few months later, repeat. I try not to give up on myself and I try again, only to be hurt every time. Just when I think things will be different this time, too. It's up to you if you actually want to do that, or just go for the lay and gtfo. Then you got classics like Tinder and Bumble where you actually have to work hard and be an attractive dude to get a good hook up, i figure everyone knows how those work already.

PS I’m not opposed to meeting people IRL, but sometimes my friends are busy and I’m not going to places alone lol
For the next several months I'm going to be making pretty regular 2-3 day trips to a relatively smallish city. I mean, third biggest city in the state but the state is Wisconsin, so. I've posted on the proper subs here but no matches yet, so I'm wondering whether it's even worth any effort to try a location-based app type thing while I'm up there. Any thoughts or recommendations?
PS keep in mind I'm about to turn 47. That has nothing to do with tech savvy, but might affect which apps would be most successful for me.
